waydroid

Container-based approach to boot a full Android system on Linux

Waydroid is a container-based approach to boot a full Android system on regular GNU/Linux systems running Wayland desktop environments. It uses Linux namespaces (user, pid, uts, net, mount, ipc) to run Android in a container and provides a seamless integration with the host system including: - Hardware acceleration for graphics (Intel and AMD GPUs) - Clipboard sharing between Android and Linux - Desktop integration with application launchers - Notification forwarding to the desktop - ADB access for development and debugging The Android environment is based on a customized LineageOS image, currently running Android 13. Optional Google Apps (GAPPS) support is available during initialization. Note: Waydroid requires a Wayland session and does not work with X11. Your kernel must be configured with Android binder support and other required options.
